Para Va'a Events
The 2016 Va'a World Sprints include V1, V6 and V12 Para Va'a events. There is also an Exhibition Para Mixed V3 event.
Para Va'a registration is processed by Area Co-Ordinators. Para Rules and Classification documents are available for download in English and French. The IVF will have classifiers on site May 5 - 9 2016. Classification documents must be completed and emailed by Para Va'a paddlers to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject: ParaVaa: Paddler name, by 15 April, 2016.
It is anticipated that Para events will be run later in the Va'a World Sprints program to assist with classification and logistics.
Para Va'a V1 Events for Para Classifications VL1, VL2, VL3:
- V1 Para Male and Female 250 metre straight
- V1 Para Male and Female 500 metre straight
Para Va'a V6 and V12 Events:
- V6 Para Mixed 500 metre straight
- V6 Para Mixed 1000 metre turns on a 250 metre course
- V12 500 metre straight
Para Mixed V3 500 metre straight is an Exhibition Event.
Para Classifications for Va'a World Sprints are VL1,VL2,VL3 with provision for vision impaired (VI) athletes. Specific Para rules, classification information and forms are available as a zip file English and French. Registration is via Area Co-ordinators and classifiers will be on site at Lake Kawana from 5 May 2016.

Participation requires qualification at an International Va'a Federation Member Sprint Championship Event.
The IVF Va'a World Elite & Club Sprint Championships are run in accordance with the International Va'a Federation Race Rules. All competitors should ensure they are familiar with these rules.
